Ginga is a word that usually associated to movement. In Kizomba we define it as what you do with your body, between the steps while dancing.

Basically, to dance Kizomba properly, you need to have Ginga. There is a difference between doing the steps and dancing the steps.

Verb "gingar" (to swing) is probably related to KIMBUNDU (one of the Bantu languages) verb JUNGA - meaning TO SPIN from one side to the other.
